Diablo 1 in window mode

For Diablo 2 you can add -w to the shortcut to make it run in window mode. Anything like this possible for D1?
D1 only runs at 640x480 (or was it 800x600?) so having it at fullscreen is a nuisance when you can obviously do more with the other desktop space

Any help?
 
one round-about way of doing this is to install a virtual Windows 9x/2k/XP installation using Virtual PC.

Set the resolution of the virtual Windows to 800x600 or so, and install D1 onto the virtual PC's hard drive.
