Initial Impressions - Excellent, I received my DI-624 Rev.C and DWL-G650 C from buy.com today. I immediately downloaded the SuperG drivers/firmware for my for my DWL-G650 and my DI-624 since the packaging did not contain them. Everything is working, although filtering is a bit over-complicated and I'm trying to figure out how to get my FTP working over the internet.

A couple hours later I have MAC-filtering (way to go me, I MAC filtered the computer I was configuring the router from at first) set up and WPA (TKIP I think? passphrase one), SSID broadcast disabled.

Now here's something interesting :)

When I first plugged in the card to the laptop, it quickly found an access point. I later brought it upstairs, and it had a rather crappy signal (18-25%) but worked. It took a while to put two and two together, but I was actually receiving a signal from across the street! (300+ feet away) I was on their LAN, and easily got into admin. I was able to figure out which neighbor it was because their connection list had machines with their last name.Strange that they have the same exact router -- now these people have been my neighbors for 10+ years and one is a serous programmer, so I will merely bring it to their attention. Besides, my connection is much faster than theirs :D

Once I used the software to select MY access point, I got a signal of 65% upstairs and high 90% on the first floor which is more than acceptable. A simple FTP test showed 20Mbps+ throughput upstairs but I have a feeling this is limited by the laptop, not my wireless. I'll do a wired 100Mbps test later to confirm.

I haven't really toyed with finding out if the superG modes are working or not, and I have a feeling my laptop won't transmit fast enough to really test it. Also, due to a 2.4GHz phone I don't know that I'll be using SuperG anytime soon...but it's nice that it's there.

Here is a quick link to setting up WPA with this router (found via google)
note: the linked WPA supplicant driver is for revision B of the card. Just go with D-Link's website for drivers.

I hope someone finds this helpful, and I will (in all likelihood) continue to update this post as a source of information.
