DI-614+ w/EZXS55W NG!; w/FS105 OK!!! Why?

I did some swapping around of equipment today and had a problem that I don't understand - here's the setup:

RCA DCM245 => SMC-7004BR => Linksys EZXS55W Ver. 2.0 => D-Link DI-614+ Rev. B, FW 3.20:
  • DI-614+ LINK LED constantly flashes rapidly
  • DI-614+ LINK and 100 LEDs randomly go dark and then come back on in unison
  • EZXW55W Link/Act, 100 and Full/Col LEDs randomly go dark and then come back on in unison, in sync with DI-614+
  • DI-614+ log shows tons of packets moving around
RCA DCM245 => SMC-7004BR => Netgear FS105 => D-Link DI-614+ Rev. B, FW 3.20:
  • DI-614+ LINK LED steady (unless there is traffic between PCs)
  • DI-614+ 100 LED steady
  • FS105 100M LED steady
  • DI-614+ log shows minimal traffic (when PCs are idle)
Why can't the DI-614+ and the EZXS55W play nice?

What are some shareware utilities that I can run to troubleshoot what's going on between the DI-614+ and the EZXS55W?
