hmm. hollow points are illegal to use in war, so why are they buying these?

Hollow Point ammo is less likely to over penetrate (i.e. pass all the way through) and (possibly) hit innocents who happen to be behind the target.

Police often use Hollow Points for that same reason.

Since when does war have rules? War in itself is breaking many laws, such as murder, it's the nature of it. It's not like it's a regulated game. It's something that breaks out that nobody really wants to be part of. *packies to US tank with guided missles* "guys, you're using aimbots, come on stop it that's cheating! Ok lets get back in position and do this again, no cheating this time!" Play! You are on red. lol.

Yes. Unless they start shooting at American, Mexican, or Canadian troops, they will use them on civilians. Welcome to America under the Patriot Act.

Nope. DHS is a law enforcement agency, not a military agency. They don't act against foreign troops, most of the time. So, yes, they will be targeting civilians. Drug runners and such.

450M is a large number of rounds though. How fast do they plan to burn through them?

But who actually enforces all this? If they actually have the power to do that why can't they just make a rule that states no weapons, wars should happen in a meeting room over a couple drinks and come to an agreement that way? Seems kinda silly. Sounds more like general guidelines to not be considered cheap, to me. Who's actually going to make the opponent follow it?

I can just see it now "Wait, wait, don't blow that up yet, let me pull out my rule book here to make sure we're ok. Ok on page 534 section 3 it talks about this but think we're ok, what do you think, should we go for it?" "Wait, let me call our enemy and see if they're ok with this, we have to play fair". :awe:

Supposedly, the UN and the International Court at the Hague do that.

But it's clear to any rational human being their effectiveness is... a fig leaf at best.

That's what I was thinking, seems kinda silly. So bet the US troops are forced to follow those rules, but can bet damn right the enemy isn't. Heck there's been lot of cases of troops being charged for incorrectly fireing a weapon. lol. They're more concerned about following the rules then actually winning the war.

Fun fact: the population of Mexico is 113M.

"Silly"? The rules may not be 100% enforceable, but the effort should still be made. And damn right we should try to follow the rules, WE'RE BETTER THAN THEM. We can follow the rules and STILL win the war, thus claiming the tactical AND the moral victory.

Somehow this concept seems to have been lost in the fog of war, and we have allowed ourselves to be dragged down to the enemy's level.

I use hollowpoints so what's the problem? Or are you just trolling at this point?
