DHL Shipping services suck! FU Newegg for using them

I have ordered too many things from newegg in the past and it has always been 1 day shipping for me with UPS. Why? because they ship it out of Central Jersey and I live in South Jersey. It's awesome because I would order it tonight and receive my stuff the very next day.

Well I guess they recently changed to DHL for their shipping services and it is terrible. It's been 3 days now and my package is no where to be seen. Worse yet, DHL shipped the package to NORTH Jersey!

Yep, that make sense right? Shipping a package from Central Jersey to South Jersey requires a detour to NORTH Jersey that's hundreds of miles away.

Let me illustrate.

Package Leaving Central Jersey ----> North Jersey ----> Back to Central Jersey ------->And then finally at South Jersey.

To make it worse, DHL don't even provide an estimated time of when I'm going to get my stuff. What used to be a 1 day shopping experience turned into a nightmare.

Shame on you Newegg.

While I have had bad experiences with FedEx, UPS and DHL - DHL by far had the most. A box of our companies payroll checks litterally fell off the back of one of their trucks and spewed the checks all over the highway. Of course the one with the direct deposite slips was just fine

I'm well acquainted with someone employed in shipping logistics (with a DHL competitor). They've told me on more than one occasion that DHL has a horrible logistics infrastructure in the US.

while i agree DHL is suck i don't think newegg has changed their default shipping services. i ordered from them on saturday evening and the package was delivered today at noon to northern jersey via ups 3 day.

They always use UPS to ship stuff to me and they are always on time and I can go online and see exactly where my package is. DHL is just horrendous.

UPS - next day delivery.
DHL - it's been 3 days and counting and They took it further away from south jersey. lol

NewEgg didn't recently switch, they've been using DHL for a while, it's their Egg Saver shipping. Often it will be the default for smaller/lighter items like RAM, thumb drives, etc. UPS 3-day isn't the default on everything they sell, it's been like this for a long time.

Let me guess OP chose the cheapest shipping option and now regrets it.

I very rarely get a DHL shipment from Newegg but have a couple times. It's usually just crazy slow.

Ehh .. at one time Newegg shipped everything Fedex with "express saver" being their cheapest service (usually 3 days or less for me)

I remember the bitching when they added UPS to their list and added ground option...

newegg's cheapest shipping used to be great, until they started using DHL. what's the point of DHL anyway? they're going to tender the package over to USPS soon and it'll take you a few more days to get your package.

I've been using DHL through NewEgg for years... for a long time, they were more reliable than FedEx or UPS, in my area. Shrug.

I love Amazon Prime.

This. Amazon doesn't have the selection that Newegg does, but Amazon does a great job of matching and frequently beating Newegg's prices. I used to rarely even bother checking Newegg's competitors, but I always check Amazon now before buying from Newegg. Even if Amazon is a bit more expensive, I buy from them instead of Newegg.

I got you beat. I'm 20 miles from the Memphis warehouse, so the logical route is to go to St Louis first, then head over to Kentucky, then meander over to Nashville, and finally to my doorstep. I think it took a week to get here.

I don't think DHL does any deliveries in the US anymore right? They just hand off packages to the post office or whoever and they deliver it.

Protip: if you are in a hurry to get your stuff, don't order the cheapest shipping method.

This. I don't quite understand the point of DHL since they just hand it off to USPS. Why not just ship it via USPS to begin with? Involving DHL just makes it ridiculously slow.

For sure. Heck, I'm in Sacramento, and if I order from Newegg via UPS on a Wed before noon, I won't get the product until Friday at the earliest. I have been shopping with Newegg for well over a decade now, and as an E-tailer, they are second to no one, except perhaps Zappos... they're pretty awesome.

FWIW, Newegg has been using DHL for some time now for the small stuff and really inexpensive shipping. Gas is up, so are UPS's costs... nothing is free people...

DHL is only for Newegg's egg saver shipping and there is a thread bitching about it roughly every month where OP complains about how long free shipping takes.

the 1 time i've had anything shipped with dhl was a complete joke. the packaged arrived from europe ok, then:

1. collection agency sends me final notice for collection of VAT (which was paid to the vendor at checkout)
2. why is dhl trying to collect VAT?
3. why is the first i hear of it a final notice from a collector?
