DHCP problem

My connection (SBC yahoo Pro) keeps disconnecting every once in a while. The DSL light on the modem would either flash green or red when it does, and then reconnect after 10 sec or so. It seems to happen on random days, usually at night, and I don't know the cause of it. I've reconnected the network cable directly to my network card so I'm sure it's not related to the router. The error message in even viewer shows:

The IP address lease 192.168.1.205 for the Network Card with network address 0030BD28F499 has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.0.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The microsoft Help and Support basically said no user action is required...

Has anyone experienced or know of this problem?

I'm not familliar with the terms in networking such as MAC addresses. I simply transferred my DSL service last year, ran the setup disk as needed to initiate the DSL, and that's it. This constant d/c, r/c started occuring a few months ago.

Your modem is losing sync/signal. Common problems -
loose wires
wet/bad copper
EMI (dimmer switches are notorious)
lack/bad filters (tivo/direct/alarm systems are commonly left unfiltered)
express to pro upgrades on poorly tuned/provisioned line
log into your modem and check your signal strength/sync speed
