DFW property surveyor recommendations?

Hi. Currently in the process of buying a house from my parents and I need to get a land survey. The house is approximately 2800 sq ft and the lot is only ~7100 sq ft. I got a quote last night for $750+tax which seems a little high. Friends have told me it should be $400 max, but can't remember who they used. Rather than getting quotes from everybody, do any of y'all have a recommendation for a surveyor? Thanks!

Not in your area, but check a few places, and look for smaller companies. Surveys can't be compared to one another. Some are easy, some are hard, and size of the lot is only a small part of it.

If you're talking about a location "survey", that price sounds high compared to here. That's just insurance for the bank so they know what they're buying, and virtually worthless(read easy to do). Definitely look for small companies.
