Right now we have DFS set up we were orginally doing replication and multiple targets (only 2 total). Well we had issues with file locking not happening (word not saying a file is already open) so we drop multiple targets and kept replication on, just incase we have a HD failure. Anyways, lately we are getting issues if you leave Windows explorer open with one of the namespaces minimized and come back to it in a min or so it opens and sits there, you can't do anything. This takes about 20 secs than comes to life and you can move around the folders.

It also happens if you have my computer open in the taskbar then bring it up, since they are mapped. I feel as the network is still trying to access a DFS target that is not mean tto be accessed or disabled?

I can't come up with any other ideas, feel free to throw some out there. BTW its a XP and server 03 r2 enviro. This happens on HP and Dells, intel and broadcom nics.
