Hey guys. I recently purchased the DFI ultra infinity II B board. The other night I installed it and I have had nothing but stability issues since. I hope I can get some help. My system right now consists of the following

Unlocked 2500+ Aqxea week 34
DFI Ultra infinity II B
2x512 Mushkin PC 3500
9800 Pro 128mb (flashed to XT)
550w Enermax PSU?

Previously I had an A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 and 2 x 512 XMS PC3200 running in the system. With that setup, I could run 3D01 @ 10.5 x 225 with the 9800 Pro at 421/378 resulting in a best score of 19,229. For every day use I usually ran the 2500+ @ 10.5 x 210 with 1.65 vcore. Well I just installed the DFI board and the mushkin ram the other day. I was running it at 10.5 x 215- 2205 mhz, and sometimes it would randomly restart or quit a game. It wouldn?t always complete 3dmark either at this setting. I don?t understand why. I started messing around with it and I actually got it to boot 9x233 but it wouldn?t run 3dmark. I didn?t really expect it to. The highest I have been able to run 3d01 at is 214 * 10.5 which was around 2.25. This was with the 9800 Pro at 412/365. I got a score of 19,172! I was surprised by this because I almost tied my previous best, but this time I was running 11mhz lower fsb, 110mhz slower CPU speed, and lower speeds on my 9800 pro. So it was running pretty fast. I haven?t been able to run it past 214 FSB successfully in 3d01? what could be cause this? I tried raising the Vdimm to 2.9 (2.96 actual) and also raised the chipset voltage to 1.7. I also raise the vcore to 1.8 just to ensure it would be stable. Well at these voltages I tried to run 10.5*220 which put it around 2.315. It loaded windows fine but did not finish 3dmark, closing to the desktop after just a few seconds. So I restarted and got a message saying that part of the C:system 32/ blah blah blah was missing or corrupt. Usually this happens when the FSB gets high enough to mess up the bus speed to other components right? Does this board not lock the AGP/PCI bus? If it does how do I do it? Because on my A7N8X I could run 3dmark at 225 fsb and not mess anything up. I guess I just need some clarification on that, and any other settings in bios I need to change to get this thing stable. I bought this board and this ram hoping to run well over 230 FSB stable. Also, do you think the problem could be my ram? I don?t think that would corrupt the hard drive though would it? I have had to reinstall windows twice today. Because the first time I reformatted and reinstalled windows after the hard drive got corrupted, I could not get any drivers or anything loaded because it said it RCPC or something was not working. Anyway I have it up and running again with all drivers installed running at stock 3200+ speeds. I need help. Sorry for the long rant, I just thought it would be good to give all relevant information.

DFI nforce2 boards overclock best with Winbond based ram, also you should use 2nd and 3rd slot(dimm 2 and 3) for best stability.Try going here to AMDMB DFI forum ,they have an official DFI representive, hope this helps.

You might try updating to a BETA BIOS (1-31?) and try cooling the SB/NB chips a little better then when it came stock

Yah its getting better. But for some reason it will only pass 3dmark01 at 213 fsb. Anything else crashes to the desktop in lobby high. At 11x213 i got 19,627. It passes every test at 11x218 except lobby high. And judging from the framerates i was getting at 218 fsb, i would be way over 20k if it would just finish. Oh well im working on it. its getting better. i think i will try a different bios like you say.

A new BIOS will help but without extra cooling on the Bridges anything over 225FSB is a gift IMO

PS, You might try and increase the chipset V's and set/relax the RAM timings (ie Turbo/aggres)

Well im gonna try to add an active coooler to the chipset. I already raised the chipset voltage. I ran 3d01 at 222fsb with the new 1/31 bios which i just flashed. I certainly hope i can do well over 225 fsb on this setup. there are many people doing over 240 fsb on this setup. Hell i could do 225fsb on my a7n8x and corsair ram. Does anyone know if the iceberg 4 pro or non pro will fit on this board for the chipset?

Dunno about the Iceberg but the Orb fits on mine and you might wanna Read this and Yuri from Xbit could onlt get 225FSB running stock. Also not that I and others have had to replace the BIOS chip when hitting over the 240FSB range.

It just went bad @ 245FSB. Dunno if it was because of the BETA BIOS (12-31) or maybe we are asking to much of the chipset. I went to boot up one day and it was a no go. No justifyable reason that I know of but when I put in a new BIOS chip all systems were go again.
