DFI ultra-d temperatures?

I have a retail HSF and I get crazy readings. E.g. it will idle at 35-38c @ 3500rpms, and under load it will jump to 55c. But there will be no lag time. Probably 2 seconds after I start prime/gaming/etc the temp goes straight from 35-55. No lag time. It might then creep up to 58c, but as soon as the proc usage goes back to 0% the temp jumps in 1-2seconds back to 35c.

Does anyone else experience these instantaneous temperature shifts? It's making me nervous. I never know what temp my CPU is running at, so I haven't even attempted to overclock yet.

Woaw, I get temps of <30C, highest I've ever seen was 31C and that was with SuperPI and 4 other programs running.

I have really low temps: idle-26, load-36. They jump really quickly between them also, its within a few seconds. The thermal sensor on this board seems to be very messed up, my temps are way too low.

I'm on 1/25, which is the one that ships with the board. There is no 1/27 IIRC.

I'm going to flash to 2/18 this weekend at some point, maybe that'll fix it.

Yeah, my mistake. Maybe i'll flash too. don't wanna mess anything up too much though, considering everything else is working well.

Have you heard of anyone else with those kind of speedy temperature shifts?
