Hi,
I'm running a venice 3200 on a dfi ultra-d with the corsair twinx i gig of ram in slots 2 and 4. I got a combo from monarch. All I did was change the heat sink to an xp-90. Anyhow I get a fail at test 8 with a bunch of red errors at the bottom of the memtest screen. Any ideas why? Could I have bad ram? I mean they tested it? The whole purpose of getting the combo from monarch was so I don't get DOA parts...

Thanks

oh and the ram settings are RAM: 200 Mhz (DDR401) /Cas: 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 8 although I'm not sure how to change these since I just turned on the power and it went strait into memtest86 v 1.51

Ok...when I test just 1 DIMM test 8 passes for both. WHen I test 2, it gives me a bunch of red errors? What can this mean?

Oh and I run 1 dimm in single channel obviously and 2 dimms in dual

Ok...here is the final verdict. When I run the corsair ram in DUAL mode, it fails test 8. When I run it in single mode 2 dims or 1 dimm it passes test 8. What the heck is going on?

dual mode as in dual channel and it fails test 8?

Corsair Twinx Kit have been tested to work good as a pair. And they come with Lifetime warranty
unless the motherboard isn't doing too well

what are your voltages?

edit---just came across your post at dfi.street. if you haven't try setting the cpu vid to 1.4 and special to 1.04 manually, not auto.

have you found your bios version yet?

second person in 2 days getting pre-tested that apparently aren't.

try setting you mem voltage to 2.7. I've heard people have success with that about the Corsair Vs and dfi ultra-d.

I installed the OS with 1 stick. Ran prime for 2.5 hours now... everything seems to pass. I actually tried already bumping up the voltage on the ram. I went to 2.8V and still same problem. Oh someone told me to turn of the USB on the motherboard. I did that and I got less errors in memtest test 8, but still got errors.

the memoy controler is on the cpu, so you might need to just bump it a little. whats it reading in bios for voltages?

Speaking of memory controller...when I boot up I get an IRQ list...and under memory controller it has N/A..not avaliable/....is that cuz its on the CPU...and does not require and IRQ?
