DFI Ultra-D I?O Shield & LAN inputs - questions

The supplied I/O shield on the DFI Ultra-D has the LAN2 covered (by default) - why is this? Should it be installed like this or should the cover by removed? Why is there a second LAN plug? What do it do?

Alot of boards still have the metal that was supposed to be cut, but was accidently left on. Just get a screwdriver or hammer and pop it out.
