I recently purchased a DFI LANPARTY DK X38-T2 motherboard from newegg. The first motherboard was DOA/damaged. The second motherboard will not boot up. The boot code displays C1 and will not move beyond that. The screen is black, the hard drive and fans do spin up.

I have changed out:
the power supply with a Zalman 750W and a PCP@C 610W.
the cpu with a e6400 and a e3110.
Different sticks of Geil 6400 and generic corsair 6400, each 2gb sticks.
I have tried a 4850 & 3870 video card, each PCIE slot was tested.

Additionally I have reset the CMOS numerous times along with leaving the battery out for two hours. **EDIT** I Have now left it out for 28 hours with same result.

Anyone know why DFI is not responding to tech support emails? I noticed it says on the website I can not RMA the mobo back to them but it has a three year warranty?

Join the anti DFI club! My LT P35 did the same thing. If you keep fiddling with it, you will get it to boot sooner or later. I had to pull everything but the essentials and 1 stick of ram. Sooner or later it would boot then I could manually set the ram speed to a proper level. After that it was fine.

I sent so many emails to DFI requesting help with the C1 issue but never once got a reply.

Well I have tried it all even with the 1 stick of ram suggestions with no luck. I am starting to get annoyed because now newegg will not respond.

This is the EXACT reason I ditched my DFI. Don't get me wrong, DFI is a good board if you want to deal with their quirks.

Just pulling the battery will not reset the BIOS.
Is the memory voltage (in the BIOS) set to the manufacturer's spec?

I think it's a DFI bios bug. When you clear CMOS, it improperly sets the ram divider and tries to run the ram at 1066 instead of 533.

So unplugging the power, unplugging the power cables, taking out the battery and resetting the CMOS does not reset it?

I know this board has two area's to reset it but I did the one closest to the power/reset buttons. Did I miss something?

**EDIT**

Also I can unplug the memory, video card and it still is stuck at C1. WTF?

I remember some people were having similar issues with this board.
Try:

A) When power disconnected to clear CMOS, flip battery upside-down and put it back in.
B) Try placing videocard in other pci-e slots.
C) Run memory in specific slots using 1 stick only (try all 4 slots).

When you take the battery out, did you also leave the jumper on clear CMOS?

That sounds like a really bad idea. I don't think you want to provide reverse voltage into that circuit.

Since the ATX 2.0 power supply spec, the power supply supplies constant power to the BIOS chip. So even if you pull the battery it won't reset. And just turning off the power switch on the power supply doesn't shut off the power to the BIOS chip either. You have to unplug the PSU from the mobo or the wall outlet. The outlet's a lot easier!

Leave the battery in and reset the CMOS. Also discharge the capacitors first by pressing the power button on the case (with the case leads still hooked up) a few times (3/4 times), then clear the cmos. Do all this with the power supply off and unplugged.

I do not like being mean but I already unplugged all power cables to the mobo. I thought that is what "unplugging the power cables meant". Remember that it is plural.

Quick I have done this many times prior to the post.
