1. Worked fine for 1 hour before leaving for work, surfing, downloading.
2 . Normal shutdown.

come home, wont boot. been working fine for 4~ weeks.
all i get is 1 yellow blinking led on the lower bottom.
standby led im guessing.
NO yellow light by the ram.

did the clear cmos, 5 minuets, 30 minuets, and 8 hours. no luck
( followed procedure on dfi-street for this )

specs

Opteron 146, ran nicely at 2.9ghz, using 1.525V ( no special vid ) setting in bios
180 mem divider, ram at 2.8volts, 2.5-3-3-6 ( pqi turbo tccd -2-2-2-5 stock )
dfi sli dr motherboard, with newest bios from here.
Sparkle/Fortron 550W ( 60plg ) its the one recommended
plus a 300 watt sparkle powering odds 'n' ends ( spst switch )

tried no ram installed, no diagnostic leds, the same blinking yellow led.
in the bottom ( no ram led )
tried 5V switch for ram, no change.

tried 1 stick in top yellow no change, in top orange , no change

as soon as i plug in the power plug to the power supply, the yellow led at the bottom starts blinking.

Also no usb plugged in, a ps2 keyboard, pressing insert , no change.

tried to power using the power switch on the board, same deal.

all power plugs are in, molex, floppy, 4 pin, 24 pin.

besides testing with another power supply, taking board out, unplugging everything other then essentials, any other thoughts ?

Thanks.

truely doubt the power supply, had this for over 2+ years now... rock stable on the rails,
had this powering a Asus MPX, Tyan tigerMP , dfi 250GB, Dfi sli dr , Iwill MPX2
(not all at the same time 🙂

i 'll find out when i connect my on/off switch to power supply, and manually power it up.
a few fans or such ,

information for this

this isnt the original place i found the info, but some info if interested for others

Updated** which sucks

FYI , well my good trusted sparkle/fortron might be dead, i read on overclockers forums that DFI's killed 2 of their power supplies. ( dfi warns that if you press the power switch more then once during 10 second period this could occur... which is crazy to think of.... plus i didnt press more then once )

I pulled the on/off switch on my second power supply, red cable from switch to the green cable on power supply
( the power on cable ) then the black cable from switch to any ground cable on power supply, no activity.
even with 2 fans and cdrom attached, to act like a dummy load , no activity...
so im going out to buy an antec 24pin atx testers, 10$... it looks like my 3 year PS is dead, or bad fuse.
after many systems, its sad to see it go.
fortron 550watt 60plg , 33amps on 12V line. native 24pin and 8 pin

updated & confirmed

Atx tester came back as all dead other then 5V standby voltage,
replaced the fuse, 10AMP, 250V , same deal, power supply dead.
Not cool.

oh well, 3years of service is nice.

buying me a OCZ 520 powerstream.

Thanks.
