i set the clock multiplier too high on my FSB and now my computer wont boot, i tried resetting my cmos like i always usually do on an overclock problem, taking a memory chip out, and using my 6800gt in a different pci-e slot. when i power on the fans go on and i hear the hard drives but no beeps or post. here are my specs:
DFI Sli-D
Athlon FX-55
Mushkin BH-6 PC3200 222
leadtek 6800GT

Remove the battery, let it sit for a minute or so, then stick the battery back in.

If it won't even post, it's most likely the MB or the CPU. Since the CPU is good, it sounds like you might need to buy a new MB.
Have you checked the RAM to see if it is still good?

just for a conclusion to this, i got it working- after clearing the cmos in every possible way i booted w/ out any hard drives, just the hard drive cables not plugged in and it posted. i got into the bio, loaded optimized defaults then shut down again. i plugged in the sata hdd power and now everything works

also if it happens next time. hold the insert key while a)you turn it on or b)your reboot. thats another way to clear it without the jumper ;)
