I still can't make up my mind between the DFI NF4 Ultra-D and the Abit AN8 (non fatal1ty). What problems has the DFI board caused you, and is it to complex for a noob like me to set up and get windows running? DO the problems have easy fixes or are the boards too complicated? If you were me would you choose the AN8 or the Ultra-D?

AN8
Ultra-D

Will be running with the following:

A64 3000+
1 gig Corsair VS
BFG 6600GT OC
120 gig Hitachi SATA

I had some memory boot up problems but I belive that was due to the fact I grabbed one of the first I could. I think its been fixed now :)

I'd like to hear comments too, about which of these would be best to buy:

DFI LANParty UT nF4 Ultra-D
or
ASUS A8N-E
or
ABIT AN8

I was having memory problems (couldnt boot with 2 sticks of RAM) but flashing to the 3/10 bios fixed that.

I've had continuing problems with my HyperX, even with 3/10. As long as you avoid HyperX, it should be fine.

Only other problem is some small sound problems in UT2K4. This isn't just me though, someone else had the same problem.

The only problem I have had so far has been that nvidia firewall. I don't blame DFI for it though, seems all kinds of nForce boards are having troubles with it. I just uninstalled the nvidia one and threw my own firewall on. I'll gladly jump back to the nvidia one when they get it fixed though.

no probs here either. been running almost 24/7 for the last month. great board.

the only prob i'm having is with my maxtor sata/150 pci card. it's not detecting drives connected to it unless the boot drive is connected to it too. but if i do that, the mobo doesnt detect the hard drive on the onboard ide channel. crazy stuff. trying to figure it out and i'm not getting anywhere. :p

I had XP install issues until I installed the 3/10 BIOS. Now I have some issues with my MX1000 occasionally, but I can't tell if it is USB problems or mouse problems.
