The users manual isn't clear at all on the requirements for the two 5V/12V power connectors on the motherboard. One is a Molex-style HDD power connector and the other is a FDD mini style connector. Do BOTH of these need to be connected to the power supply, or just either one of the two?

Not needed but it's best to connect them. There are some situations where the motherboard won't boot without the 4 pin large molex plugged in.
