dfi nf4 question

yeah, that is normal, because the bios controls fanspeeds based on temperatures. IIRC, the default for the UT NF4 boards for the chipset fan is "full speed" >50C and complete shutoff is <25C. So it will spin up on boot, then shut off completely until it reaches 25C.
 
ahh..ok, thanks for the info. i see that in the bios now (little different from my s754 lanparty ut)

lol, took me a while to find the first time

just a suggestion, I turned my shutoff temp to 30C and "full-on" temp to 55C, and it now never runs above 2000rpm and doesn't hit 40C under load. much quiter🙂
