DFI nf4 Infinity SLI

Conclusion:

We suprised ourselves thoroughly with the Infinity, we managed to get our Winchester core AMD 3000+ running at 2615 MHz. This is 815 MHz over it's 1800MHz stock speed. Understandably, the memory did not like such high settings, so we settled on a .8 memory divider, letting the memory run at 237 Mhz. Our HT frequency was set at 290 (!) and the system was completely stable running with 2.5-2-3-3-7 memory timings.

The voltages were as follows: 2.9V DDR, 1.6V northbridge, CPU 1.450. This is a thoroughly massive overclock and is testament to not only our Winchester core, but the DFI board as well.

Though DFI with its Infinity series tosses away many of the things that gamers have come to expect from them, the board offers in spades what counts most - performance.

Instead of the colourful, bright, feature laden board layouts of DFI's Lanparty series, we are presented with a compartively spartan board. Because of that though, this board will let system builders design truly a wolf in sheeps clothing. The board's visuals are no indication of the awesomeness that lies within.

The board overclocks amazingly, and we will hopefully have more time to play with this board to see just how far it is able to go.

If you or anyone else you know happens to be in the market for an inexpensive SLI motherboard, this is the one to pick. SLI and amazing overclocking for little price is something that doesn't exist in the market currently, so this board is definitely going to fill a niche that many people will be happy to pick up.

One thing I like is that it actually has 3 PCI slots compared to 2 on the Lanparty series.
