DFI LanParty vs free motherboard

I'm just starting to spec out a new system. I haven't upgraded for years, I'm still running an Athlon 1600+ and GeForce 4, I'm amazed I can still play any games but I guess thats what you get for buying the best at the time.

I was looking at gettig this eVGA Geforce 7800 GTX (256-P2-N528-AX), and I was realisticly not planning on buying 2 video cards, so I was going to get a DFI LanParty Ultra. On an unrelated note I was thinking of going with the AMD64 X2 4400+ if anyone has comments on that.

This is where things that interesting though. If you haven't seen it already, if you buy this video card directly from eVGA you also get a free motherboard! Here is the link to the spec page . I looked at the price and for me to purchase the card directly from eVGA it looks like it will actually cost the same as buying it locally, plus I save about $175 CDN + tax on the motherboard.

Would I be insane to pass up this deal, since I'm not a hardcore overclocker these days? Anyone seen any reviews/opinions about this eVGA motherboard before?

Almost any board can OC 10-15% so if thats all your going for, also go with the 4200+, as the 1 meg cache will only give you 3-5% more performance, as people go for the 4400+ as it is a very good OCer, it would almost seem wasted if you don't do at least 20%. I'm saying this because the 4200+ isn't as good of an OCer, and it would probably suit your needs just fine.

the combo is over priced the gtx can be had for 479 so you will save over 100$ by not buying the combo. dfi ultra-d goes for 120 ish

Because of weak dollar perhaps? When I was in England all hardware was insanely expensive....
