I've seen mine get as high at 85C with no stability problems, so those temps should be fine.

Did you use AS5 on your chipset HSF? I've been thinking about doing that, but I don't want to go through the hassle of removing the motherboard if it's only a 1-2C drop. If it's 5C or more, it's probably worth it.
just cleaning my front intake fans gave me a 5c drop 😛Originally posted by: mikester

What is your CPU temp?

AS5 = Artic Silver 5 = good thermal interface material. There are instructions on DFI-street on how to remove the fan from your chipset and apply some AS5 so you get better heat transfer from the chip to the heatsink/fan.
The video card right over the chip could be a factor. Try moving it to the second PCIe slot and see if that makes a difference in your temps. Be sure to switch all the jumper blocks between the 2 PCIe slots if you want to use the second slot. By default, the top slot is 16x and bottom one is 1x. Moving the jumpers makes them each run at 8x. If you don't do that, your video card will be extremely slow.
I run my 6800GT in the second slot because I use a V-1 cooler on it which interferes with the CPU heatsink if I try to use the first slot. Maybe that's helping my temperatures stay around 50C load, or maybe it's the XP-120 heatsink on my CPU that helps to also cool the chipset, hard to say.
