Hi,

I just bought a DFI LanParty UT nF3 250Gb, with some GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5.
I downloaded the CPU-Z application and in the memory tab it says "Single" in the memory section. I am just wondering if this should be "Dual" as there are two sticks in there at the moment.
Also what would be the optimum specifications to set for the RAM in the bios to get the most out of it? as i am completely new to fiddling around in the RAM section of the bios and overclocking in general.

Thanks for any help.

CPU-Z is correct, Socket 754 is single channel. Sockets 939 and 940 are dual channel. Two sticks does not mean dual channel. Dual channel means there are two memory controllers, one for each channel. Socket 754 has only one channel. As far as BIOS settings, look here.

That's not necessarily a bad thing btw since, in addition to the on-die memory controller, the lack of dual channel makes it much easier to OC if you have non-permium RAM. The former is because it allows you to use the memory divider without as severe a penalty as would've been found using te nforce 2 chipset The latter is because, back to the NF2 chipset again, dual channel was notoriously finiky with RAM in dual channel mode. 754 is a good platform if you don't want to spend a butt load on RAM.
