Ok no where in my bios can i tell the stupid board NOT to shut my CPU fan off. There are lots of BIOS settings to set it at what temperature it should either be at full or shut off completely. I have set it to the lowest setting which is 25 to go full power but my temps keep staying at 23-24 when not in use and the sucker just turns off. In my previous mobo it alwasy was running full blast. This has to be bad for it!! OMG! Only if i play a game or do some encoding/decoding does it turn on -- Jesus my CPU is going to burn. I have read that the DFI mobos read the temps imcorrectly. I am just using the stock AMDx2 3800+ HS/Fan combo.... no way it's working that well. IS there any way to set it to spin full bore all the time -- it's quiet and besides my video fan totally covers its noise LOL>

damn... your body temp is 37Celsius, and your not dying.. even if the temps is misread, and it is in fact running at 30 Celsius, what's wrong.. Your CPU is going to bunr if it goes way over 80 Celsius...

I would like to have my 'sucker' to be off when it is under 40Celsius..

Anyway.. if your so scared, just plug the CPU fan on another fan header and disable fan speed check up in BIOS...

People kill to have your 'problem'!
Have you tried touching the CPU heatsink to feel it's temperature? Have you looked in the biosor windows utility to see/compare what your CPU temp reading is?
If you're really worried, buy a cheap multimeter with temp sensor and put the temp probe inbetween the HS fins and read the temp. not 100% accurate but good enough.
My 3200+ is sitting here at almost ambient (20C) when idle with stock HSF (CAG direct cool air feed). I think your HSF is probably even more effective than mine. My HS is cool to the touch and the fan is currently running at 1250rpm. It makes me notice my NB fan (and it's undervolted too...)
Hope that calms your fears a little :)
