I had my heart set on either an Asus M2A32-MVP or a Gigabyte GA-MA790FX, my countenance was rigid and clear! I want an AMD and Xfire motherboard supporting a Phenom. But then I came across my old love, I was so curious as to what DFI were up to, why had they disappeared from the shelves. I had missed them. Then I saw it. On their website, in the news section. They've quenched that almost undying thirst!

They released this. This goddess! I know what I want. I own a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR Expert. Of its kind, socket 939, AMD, with SLI, it was the best. An overclocking beast, a legend! Now i must have this.

MSI? This gets great user reviews @ Newegg, where the crowd can be pretty harsh:

Gigabyte: some more issues than the above:

970 FX mobo review:

Hmm, an overall harsh review of the 790FX....they recommend waiting for the next iteration of the Phenom and 790FX.

And, same here: bugs:

Intel Quad core has been out for a while, and works. Really well.

My days of being an unpaid beta tester are over--Phenom doesn't win any benchmarks of any kind, uses more juice....it's not looking good.

If your software can use four cores: Q6600, P35 or X38 chipset....typical solid Intel chipsets.

HTH
