DFI Lanparty UT 250gb

Currently, I'm running:

DFI Lanparty UT 250gb (220fsb)
Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.42ghz
WD Raptor 74gb
2x Seagate SATA 200gb (RAID-1)
512mb Crucial Ballistix

However, I'm running into a bit of quirky operation that suggests A) problems with the SATA lock (I've heard rumors that the SATA lock only works correctly with 2 of the 4 SATA ports?) or B) Having overclocked the proc too far.

I'm pretty sure it's not B - the proc reaches a max of 49C to 50C under load - and I'm actually able to overclock it further with no problems. In fact, the only reason why I haven't overclocked it further is due to that question - does the SATA lock work correctly on the DFI Lanparty UT 250gb? I've read somewhere that it doesn't, hence the reluctance to go past 220fsb.

lower the multipliers for the processor and memory, then raise the fsb more to be sure that it isn't either of those

Lowering the mults/increasing the fsb now.

Bit reluctant, admittantly - hd corruption doesn't sit well with me.

At 240 fsb/8x mult.

No problems as far as I can tell.

However, random rebooting/refusing to boot into windows once it reaches that point seems to point towards the proc then (I've had trouble with SATA locks in the past that resembled this, but if it isn't bothered by a 240fsb....)

I'm stumped. Proc was supposedly only running at a max of 49C, so I don't see why that would be any cause for concern.

Use SATA ports 3-4 near the CPU socket. 1-2 at the bottom of the board will not work past 240HTT. It is a known limit with the NF3 chipset.

That could be a problem. Try 5 or 6, definitely not 1 or 2. They all use the Nvidia solution.

And this explains my overclocking problems now....

Hrm. Time to look into buying a cheapo PCI SATA RAID card.
