Well, I had been planning on getting this board for my upgrade since the SLI boards looked far too expensive, and 16x/2x sounded pretty good to me...

So imagine my surprise when I see the SLI hacking article on the front page...now I want this board even more of course, but the question is:
Won't we still need the SLI bridge? Is this something that DFI will be including with the Ultra-D?

Anyway...hopefully there won't be obscene demand for the Ultra-D that drives it's price up to SLI levels lol.

you will have to try fabbing a bridge yourself, buying one off of someone with one, or wait and see when some other company will start producing them. dfi will NOT sell you an sli bridge. they were planning on it, but nvidia jerked them up short. greedy bastards, it would have gotten even more of their boards sold.

My thought is why not spend the extra money on a full-blown SLI board? Heck, if you're gonna drop the kinda coin you need to drop in order to have 2 video cards running in SLI, why skimp a mere few bucks on the motherboard? I realize availability is a concern, but, still, I would get something I didn't have to mod/tweak/void warranty.

Damn DFIDude, talk about resurrecting dead threads! LOL! This thread never even had a response back in January!

DSS- TOTALLY agree. I don't know why you'd spend $400-1000 on two video cards to just suddenly decide to save $30-50 and not get the last 10-20% of performance for your money.
