DFI lanparty Ultra D, 2nd video slot useful?

Using the latest Nvidia drivers, can that second video card slot be used at all? Can any other types of cards fit in those slots?

I need a parallel port so the fact that this board doesn't have one and a possibly useless slot seems to make the DFI less than desirable.

I suppose a PCI-e expansion car, such as a sound card, could be used in that extra slot.

Well you can run an ATI card for Direct3D games and a NVIDIA card for OpenGL. Or run two cards for a four monitor setup.

would the hardware SLI mod still work for the already released Ultra-D?

If you buy your board before 20/02/2005 and you can find a connector for the two cards, then yes.

SO you can't run dual x800xl's in sink, like sli? That's what i heard it was going to be used for..

I got my DFI Ultra mobo last Friday. I made the SLI mod so I have a SLI mobo now, and DFI said that the bridge connector will be available for purchase..

I was so excited that I didn't notice that the UltraD had no parallel or serial connections.

Oh well, I'll just use a usb to parallel cable..
