DFI lanparty SLI-D beeping spastically?

I just bought and installed a DFI lanparty SLI-D motherboard, put a gig of ram and an athlon64 processor in it. When I power it up, it beeps and doesn't post. It's likely that the board is simply damaged, but I wonder if the beeping could mean I have bad memory?

If you look in the motherboard manual, there should be a list of diagnostic codes that correspond with the number of beeps you hear. In my experience both times it has happened to me it has been video card, but there should be codes for all kinds of problems

Bookah, thanks man. That's good advice, I found the comprehensive manual online, and the long beep means it's got a problem with the RAM I used.
