Hello all, I JUST bought a Lanparty Ultra-D the other day along with a 64 3000+ Venice, Antec Sonata II, eVGA 7800GT CO SE and a new HDD, trying to build myself a good gaming PC. I am an overclocker and my intent was to eventually overclock my computer so after numerious reccomendations I went for the DFI. Well, I ran into some complications. After countless hours of troubleshooting various problems and setting everything up, I am now left this one issue that I can't resolve.

-Ram
I have 2x256 OCZ Platinum EL DDR PC3200 and 1x1GB OCZ Performance EL DDR PC3200 sticks, the problem is, I can't use them all on the motherboard. I can use one, but not all. Currently i'm running on the 1gb stick in the first ram slot, but as soon as I add even one 256mb OCZ stick, my computer starts to BEEP a few times and nothing appears on screen. However, if I place one 256 or 1gb stick alone in the mobo, then everything works fine. I never had this problem with my previous motherboard. I looked into the BIOS, but a lot of the options and settings are bit too complicated for me, and I don't want to screw anything up. I did however, try to increase my ram voltage, but that didn't really solve anything.

Would appreciate some help, thanks a lot.

Well heres an update to the ram problem.
If I put 1 256mb in the first slot, then 1gb in the second, and the other 256mb in the third, then the BIOS successfuly recognizes it all as 1.5gb, and all is well UNTIL Windows is supposed to load up. At that point, the screen goes blank and I can't do anything at all.
I even tried putting one 1gb and ONE 256mb in the motherboard, but that resulted in blank screens and beeping noises. Is there any solution to this problem? I just want to be able to have 1.5GB of ram like I did with my previous motherboard using the same sticks. Please help! Thank you.

I'd try relaxing the ram timings and set the command rate to 2T, along with at least 2.8v. You've already played musical slots and given some extra voltage so that is a good start. May want to give another bios a go too. Make certain to flash with just the 1GB stick in of course.

okay from what I hear at the dfi forums and the dfi ppl, 3 sticks of ram will NOT work on an nf4 mobo. Now the main issue is what to do with my ram. What ram should i buy now I just recently bought the single stick of ocz 1 gig high performance pc3200 memory and now Im thinking if I should sell that and buy a dual channel 1 gig ocz memory....arghh

So im thinkin that i keep my 512 dual channel sticks and buy a 1 gig dual channel set....

Edit: Or actually, if I buy the exact type of 1GB OCZ I currently have (OCZ Performance PC3200 1GB DDR400 CL3 3-3-8 184PIN DIMM W/ Ramsink), will that run in dual channel with the other 1GB since they're of the exact same make? Or do I have to buy only ones that come grouped with 2x1gb only? Because I'm thinking i'd rather sell my 2x256 and just buy another stick of 1GB if that works.

Thanks again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sell the 2x256MB and buy yourself a new stick of the OCZ Performance RAM... It will work in Dual Channel with the other one... It will be the best, seen from a performance point as well...

Update:

Okay so I bought the 1GB, and it works in Dual Channel perfectly. Tried installing the 2x256, but it didn't work at all. A shame really, the 2x256OCZ is pretty high quality stuff, and fairly expensive when I bought it. I'm not even sure if it'll sell for much at all. Question: is this 'restriction' of ram because of the 64bit processor or because of the lanparty motherboard?

Thanks for your help guys

This is more of an issue with mixing sizes than DFI....

Youre using a single 1GB dimm and 2x 256MBs? you need matched pairs for dual channel, id wager 2x512 and 2x256 would work.
