I bought a DFI LanParty NF4 off FS/FT here to replace my dead A8N-SLI and haven't got around to installing it till now.

After installing the mobo in the case, dropping in the CPU, HSF, and graphics card and connecting the appropriate cables, I turned on the power switch on the PSU.

I see the standby power LED's and the DRAM power LED's light up, but when I hit the power button at the front of the case, nothing happens. I see my front case fan and graphics card fan spin up for 1 second really slowly and they die down again.

I don't hear any noises or beeps. Even when I try powering it up by hitting the power switch on the mobo itself, it does the same thing and nothing happens. The CPU fan doesn't even spin up.

I also see all 4 PCI 2 diagnostic LED's flash red momentarily.

I made sure the 24 PIN ATX, the 12V CPU power, and the 4 PIN Molex connectors were properly connected to the motherboard.

What could be the problem here? If I recall correctly the guy who sold me the board said it was a working pull.

Thanks!

Must start with only 1 stick of mem.
There also was some sort of safe mod to start from a jumber by the onboard start button.

I tried to boot with 1 stick and no sticks. It doesn't show any signs of ever powering on.

take the mainboard out of the computer and put it on your desk.

take out the power supply and put it on your desk.

try to power it on using the power button on the board. if that doesnt work, try shorting the two power pins with a screwdriver. i dont know the board but on mine there are LED's changing color or giving a diagnostic code if it fails to boot.

no power or having it power off after 1 sec is indicative of psu or mb failure.

edit: when i say take the mainboard out, remove everything, just have the bare board.
