DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D Nbridge fan replacement

Any better ideas? They did this rather than replace my mobo. I'm liking the idea of a fanless solution, but the chipset is right in line w/ the 1st PCIe slot. Right now I stuck my 6600gt in the 2nd PCIe slot, but it says its running at x2 speeds now. 🙁 obviously not ideal. Any ideas for a fix that won't entail too much chopping?

I bet DFI would send you an exact replacement for free if you asked them politely. The DFI NF4 northbridge HSF is not your average el-cheapo bushing model either.

Yeah, I was under the impression that it was a higher quality hsf, but about 5 months after I bought the thing it started to get crazy loud, and the fan slowed right down. Not sure what happened to it, but something needed to be done.

Maybe I'll try contacting DFI. Thanks for the suggestion.

Get the Jing Ting..............it works and if you have decent airflow can be run fanless..............😀

You can also try switching the six jumper blocks so the second PCIE slot operates in 8x mode. There is essentially no difference between 8x and 16x, especially on a 6600GT.
