What does the Ultra board at Newegg have that this board does not? And what about the more expensive DFI boards? Where can I read about the differences?

Thinking about picking up that Ultra from Newegg. I'm running on a crappy Biostar Nforce2 IGP Mobo, with a Mobile Barton 2400 @ 1.8 GHz. So I guess it's time for an upgrade. I'd still need a CPU, PCIe Vid card, and possibly better RAM to get the most out of the new CPU's too though.

The Ultra should be able to be modded into an SLI board.

Another question, NewEgg/UPS related. What's better, the 3 day UPS or the 1-5 day Ground shipping? It has a little thing in asterisks when chosing a shipping method saying - "Your order can be shipped to you in just 2 days via the "UPS Ground" shipping method." So I guess that means they're recommending the ground shipping in this instance?

TankGuys says they can be difficult to work with...?? How so?

DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail....

2 pci-e slots but no sli. What would you use the second for? I am not interested in sli anyway. Hm I don't want to pay for something I will not use.

I am looking for no sli or firewire.

Best deal is the Epox NF4 ultra at Mwave for $93. Just a few less advanced overlocking tweaks but demands less power for a given overclock than the DFI ultra-d.

Anybody know if the "DFI nForce4 Ultra (939) LanParty UT Ultra-D" will work with an Opteron out of the box?

Why does it cost so much to ship though? I have shipped mobos in laptop boxes for like 8 dollars with DC... via usps. Are they doing overpriced fed-ex or ups???

Now that I've determined that the only difference is the lack of sata II and SLI (which can easily be modded into the board if you want them), I think that this is still a good deal.

They are exact shipping quotes from FedEx/UPS/USPS based on weight, and distance, but with like 75 cents added to pay for the boxes and peanuts. So no, we aren't over charging on it :)
