What is the yellow deal around the socket....willit come off? I dont think my prome will fit on there with it on. What is it for???

Well that holds the fans in place. I suppose you could just rip it off, but i would highly recommend cutting it if you dont want to but it back on ever again. Again im not 100% sue but i dont think a fan chasis should dmg anything.

That is what the "normal" heatsink clips on to. You can remove it by removing the two screws that you see. The plastic comes off, then underneath there will be a metal plate that the screws go into. It has some sticky stuff to keep it against the motherboard. You can pop this plate off either just with your hands, or by gently prying.

These steps are completely reversible.

I hope you have A64 specific mounting hardware for your Prommie because I don't think stuff for the P4 or socket A would work.

i guess your chaintech didn't come with a hsf fan mount

but yeah it's the mount for your hsf... just remove it.. and put the prommy mounting kit in place of it...

all should be fine
