Anybody have any experience with this bad boy ? Is it worth the price ?

Considering all the fluff that comes with it, I suspect the inflated price might not mean a superior MB. Then again, I could be wrong.

Hi Doomer,

since i work for DFI, my opinion is most likely biased. But I can tell you that I bought the KT400A before I ever thought about working for DFI, and it was the best board I had ever owned. Of course I own the NF2 and I875 boards. The NF2 is my main personal machine (I only have a 2.0Ghz Northwood 100FSB for the Intel heh), and I have had excellent results with it.

Anandtech gave it a very high rating in its review of the board, but if you are like me, you pay more attention to what users say that own the board for more than a few days to bench it. I'll merely add my opinion (already did =), and bump this so others that own the board can give you their opinions.

Hello Doomer,

I have a DFI NFII ...... i have one word for you .... awesome

it booted up first time no problem, BIOS is great, stability is great, did i mention looks?,etc. etc. etc.

am i biased? no, cuz i was GOING to get an ASUS before i decided DFI. DFI seemed last minute mind change and i have not regreted it at all.

the only bad thing that happened to me is the NFII I ordered from Monarch COmputers was quiet dirty so i RMAed it. THe dirtyness worried me. Just make sure your Motherboard is clean when it arrives

I've seen a couple reviews including here that found it to be the best NF2 board yet. The NF7-S users with all the sweet voltage options for overclocking might contest that but it doesn't stop the DFI from being a jewel. The bundled stuff just makes it a sweeter deal for guys with window mods that like to trick out their systems. If you don't want the bundled stuff then get the NF7-S since it's only 114.95$ shipped 2nd day from googlegear but otherwise I would jump on the DFI if I was looking for a new NF2 board.

Thanks all. :)

I'm currently running an Asus A7N8X Deluxe in my main system and I'm getting ready to upgrade my other box. In general I can't complain about the Asus as I haven't had any major problems with it. However, I feel like I've been able to avoid a lot of problems by learning from other people's mistakes. For instance, I haven't killed my BIOS yet and I have the SATA , the 3com NIC and firewire disabled in the BIOS as I don't need them at present. I know people have had problems with these. :( Also, there seems to be some controversy as to weather or not the pre rev. 2.0 boards can run at 400mhz stable. The list goes on. :(

I'm looking for the board that has the least problems, both rumored and real. OC'ing would be nice but stability is more important.

Oh, and, all the toys have to work. :)

Dapunisher is correct. The boards are pretty much equal (Abit/DFI), and of course my opinion is biased, owning the NF2 and never getting to play with the Abit.

But he is right in the sense that if you want ALL the goodies, go with the DFI. If you want just a board that will do what you want, go with the Abit. They are both the two top NF2 boards in the land right now. I prefer the DFI because of all the goodies it comes with =)
