OK so its narrowed down to a few things.

1. I'm gonna use a gig of ram
2. speeds need to be PC3200 and up (i plan to overclock a 2500+ barton as much as possible)
3. I have narrowed the ram selection down a bit. All selections are 512x2

The Buffalo CH-5 or whatever (maybe its BH-5) has been recommended by a few.

The TWIN MOS ram... which is a bit more x-pensive but also been recommended to me by Angry Games

The Geil Golden Dragon PC3500..... Seems to work well for people...

you dont need pc3500, pc3200 fine

both the buffalo and twinmos use the same winbond modules so it doesnt matter, both are good

yep, any of the TwinMOS/Buffalo modules will work well.

I dont have any Golden Dragon, but the DFI lab guys tout it as being excellent RAM for the money.

one thing though, there is a limit on the Vdimm of the DFI NF2 of 2.8v, and the Golden Dragon RAM seems to like really high voltages. I hope that someone that owns this board and some Golden Dragon can post and give you a better answer.

Otherwise, stick to the Buf/TwinMOS =)

I honestly dont want to say anything because I do not have and never have owned any of the Golden Dragon RAM. Using normal knowledge that I have, I would say its no big deal or difference between the timings on the diff brands.

YOu honestly won't see a difference unless you run benches, and even then the difference won't be much at all.

I can only restate what the lab in Taiwan has told me, that they have tested teh GD modules and find them to be excellent performers. I'm sorry that this isnt really helpful but I don't like giving opinions on items I have never had in my possession =)

again you won't ever notice a difference in CAS2 and CAS2.5 unless you run memory benchmarks. There isn't any real-world performance difference that I can see with my eyes during gaming/3d rendering/etc.

I have used CAS2 on the NF2, and now have the Buffalo CAS2.5 and the 2.5 stuff actually performs better because it seems to be able to take on the really high clocks without having to adjust any of the other timings as much.

Some ppl might say CAS2 is better, but the difference in 100 memory mark points or such isn't anything you will ever notice.

ok then just in general not being specific to dfi(since you are a rep) what do you think is the best ram for use with a nfoce 2 ultra 400? stats being around 2.5-3-3-6. oh and i am going to start a thread about it but do you know the difference between level one and level two mushkin?

dont know the diff in the Mushkin

in my opinion, the best RAM for the NF2 is either the Buffalo DDR3200 CH-5 or the TwinMOS DDR3200 CH-5/TMD
