The Culprits:
Athlon XP Mobile 2400+ (11 x 200) @ 1.675 V
DFI Infinity Ultra (Latest BIOS)
4 x Corsair Value Select PC3200 (DDR400)
Ok, this is a wierd one.
I have four memory modules, all memtest86 passed and work at full speed (DDR400). In other motherboards, I have no issue (at least apparently) in running two of these sticks with any problems. In the DFI motherboard listed above, I seem to fail to pass Prime95 tests with two sticks in ANY combination of the 3 slots. All the DIMMs are good and pass prime95 in other machines in various combinations.
FURTHERMORE, I am able to run one DIMM at a time in the DFI motherboard and pass all tests (PRIME95 and memtest86) without any issues. Not only can I run in slot 1 and 3 but also slot 2. BUT JUST ONE. Now, I have even tried putting two DIMMs in slots 1 and 2 but Prime95 fails after a few minutes. The processor is also very good and does not fail in other machines.
Can anyone help? if you need further information I will respond quickly.
