I keep trying to get this confirmed, but all retail places say that its MCP-T SB comes with Realtek audio, and not Soundstorm. I heard from someone else that it's not true Soundstorm, but Soundstorm certified, which leads me to believe it is capable of Soundstorm features but isn't physically Soundstorm. I doubt this is the case, but I just want confirmation that the DFI Infinity does indeed have genuine Soundstorm like that of the NF7-S. Thanks!

Is the board in question the NF2 Ultra Infinity? If so then it has Soundstorm.

If the NF2 board has SPDIF bracket then it is usually Soundstorm equipped (not always, but ususally).

Yes, it has the NF2 APU which is the most important part of SoundStorm certification, but the APU cannot handle analog conversions so a DAC must be used. With most boards it's the Realtek ALC650 which is somewhere around the original Sound Blaster Live! in terms of sound quality. For reference this includes the NF7-S.

Realtek get's called crap a lot, mostly from their older products, but I would say the ALC650 has better sound quality than the original Live....probably on par with most of the mainstream cards today.
