DFI Infinity 975X/G VS. Gigabyte P965P-DS3.

Hi Guys,
I am torn between the two boards. I would think the 975 chipset is better than the 965P in terms of overclocking and stability.
But here are my deciding problems:
1) I got OCZ DDR2 PC2_PC6400, so this might have problems with the Gigabyte board.
2) I need 3 PCI slots, soundcard, modem, and TV Tuner.

If any one has experience with the two boards, please let me know about the overclocking ability.

Please vote. Please give reasons for making your choices. Thanks.
I won't be getting the board until next month maybe. Hopefully the prices are down by then.

Well I have the S3 which is the same as the DS3 except for solid caps.

Mine has worked VERY well. I have a wireless card and a SCSI card in my PCI ports with no conflict and working well. I did have to update the Bios as it did not like my SCSI card at first but that was very minor.

As for sound i use the HD onboard sound. It ahs digital out and the analog is not bad, for realtek, after updating top the newwest drivers.

The board overclocks my 805 chip better then my last Asus board (which i will not buy again).

I have PC5400 ram that runs at 1.8V stcok so I can;t help on the ram. I think mopst problems were that these high performance rams want more then 1.8V. So a lot of people boot their systems up with 1.8v ram raise teh voltage on the ram then install the higher ram.

So I vote Gigabyte or wait for the i680 Nivida chipset.

Perhaps I just get the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA, reuse my old DDR1 OCZ PC4000 Platinum 2GB kit. With the RAM prices, I might just wait. How bad is the performance? Maybe a better board will come along with a decent price range.

The performance is not to bad, BUT overclocking will be very limited if you are looking for that.

But yea if you are in no rush wait for quad core cpus as they will push the chips down even more and more boards will be out. Also the i680 nivida chipset should be out and MAYBE ram prices will come down a little?
