DFI Expert noise level?

i'm between the asus a8n-32 and the new DFI expert...i am leaning towards the Asus cause of it's silent heatpipes but i want the DFI cause it is widely available and $40 cheaper than the asus. anybody know how loud that NB fan is on the DFI?

Hi my friend🙂

The Northbridge fan on the Expert is of the Magnetic Levitation design, and even when set to run 100% is very quiet but very effective.

Best regards,

Randi😀

you can aslo control the chipset fan in smartguardian and thus lower RPM (as far as I know in the same way as on the "regular" NF4)

most tinkerers will take off the heatsink and use some AS5 and put it back on (good for a few degrees)

got it, thanks...well, i guess i will try it out.

any ideas on how the performance of the silent zalman northbridge heatsink on this mobo? not a good idea?

Mine doesn't bother me. When web surfing etc. I turn down the cpu & case fan but leave the chipset cranked up.

No. Just use the Smart Guardian that came with. I'm going to add a couple so I'll probably use a switch & resistors for them.
