Hey guys,

I'm gonna be setting up my system soon. I'm getting a 3000+ venice, and planning to overclock it as much as I can and someone recommended the DFI SLI-dr, and there seem to be a ton of great reviews on it.

Thing is that, I'm not gonna be getting an Nvidia card, I'll probably go ATI and get the x800xl. I heard the SLI-DR has lots of nice overclocking 'extras'. But I figured this would be the best place to ask, do i really need the sli-dr? I'm just looking for a board that will overclock well.

Specs are in my below. I know the dfi boards are sought out for their high vdimm voltage capability, but I'm not getting the ocz gold vx, so I don't think that is a concern for me. Any suggestions for alternative boards?

A64 3000+ Venice
Thermalright Xp-90C cooler
DFI LP NF4 SLI-DR
OCZ PC3200 Premier Dual Channel 1 gb
OCZ Modstream 520W
Asus X800XL 256 MB

Thanks,
Mo

Just get the UltraLanparty-D. As you stated, you will have an ATI card to throw on the board. No since in getting the full SLI option as you won't be using it. The Ultra-D Has all of the same features as the full SLi board.

It does not.

The SLI-DR has a second SATA controller from Silicon Image giving 4 more ports.

I'm only going to have 1 sata drive and 1 ata drive. Not really interested in RAID either.

Still go for the ultra-d?

The non SLI can moded quite easily to be a SLI... also there will be no brigdge required in future SLI at all.

Save some money and get the non-SLI. You can mod or upgrade to a better Videocard later.
