"The review is sceduled to post at AnandTech on Monday/Tuesday at midnight. If we can get it up Monday AM we will, but I just got the board a few hours ago, and we plan to check out all the controllers and features."

I'd rather they took their time and thoroughly test it and write it up than rush it and give inaccurate info. But thats just me.

What (specifically) is making you so disappointed in it? The only things that stick our are the lack of sata2 headers and the less-than-stellar usb2 performance. I can forgive the usb perf, since the most I do is update my ipod (I can get firewire for that).

Well, it offers little over the Sapphire board and commands a very high price. For that price, they should have fixed the USB issue and the SATA issue. If the board were cheaper I wouldn't be so disappointed.

The USB fix won't be implemented until '06 Q1, but I'm curious as to what the DFI CF-BT would bring... other than the reference board layout.

DFI will be coming out with a second board in a few weeks that uses the ULI Southbridge. This second board is not an ATI reference board but designed by Oscar Wu.

Ah, well supposedly it has the same layout as the "Grouper" so I had assumed it was the ati reference version, either way... looks like I'll be waiting for that one.

The 4DSx1T memory performance is awesome. I wonder if it can be enabled via a BIOS update on the other DFI boards, or if some hardware was involved to get it to work.

Oops, you are right it is based on the ATI reference design but has had a number of tweaks added to it.

I doubt its just a BIOS update as its supposed to be impossible for the CPU's memory controller to push those speeds, so my guess is that is something physical on the motherboard that is helping to accomplish it.

However I agree, this is dissapointing because we have no "Ultra-D" version, at least not yet. Until then we'll have this overpriced premium board to drool over. Capability of more than 2GB of ram @ 1T = yum.
