Hey Evan...
Hope all is well. I'm just wondering why there isn't a thread for this MB? Seems that this is a pretty killer board. It seems that with the right ram this mb is posting some impressive scores. What's your feeling on this board? OCZ 3700gold on this mb seems to be killer? I read your article, and it seemed that you weren't too impressed by it.

I love the DFI PRO875, I think it's a great board. Unfortunately there is such a limited amount of space in the Motherboard forum that I have to pick and choose boards to sticky to the top. The DFI PRO875 is still a killer board though.

Evan,Thanks for your reply...has the forum shrunk in size, I thought I remembered it as being a little bigger. It would be nice to see some sub catagories under the the heading MOTHERBOARDS, maybe a heading for specific mb's...AMD and Intel. I guess with all the advertising there isn't much room left...the bills gotta get paid somehow!!! I'll have to check out your round up, as Vonkhan doesn't think it stacked up to well against the other 875 mb's. Have you had a chance to try any ocz mem in the DFI 875pro ? I have a good feeling if you do, we'll all see some impressive numbers...thanks again for your reply and hard work you put into your reviews...

I was just wondering if there are any others out there that have bought this MB. I understand that a Lan Party II is due out the middle of this month....I'm pretty much sold on this board...If the Lan Party II has firewire support it's a done deal! Maxium PC reviewed 6 Mobos, Asus P4C800 Delux($200, it received a "9"), Abit IC7-G($150, it received a "9",)Chaintech 9JCS Zenith($269, it received a "9"), DFI LAN Party Pro 875 ($219, it received an "8"), DFI LAN Party KT400A ($160, it received a "6"), and the MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR($150, it received a "9"). They gave the "Kick Ass" award to the Chaintech 9JCS(P4 platform) and the MSI K7N2(AMD platform).. I wonder about MaxiumPC sometimes? It use to be a killer rag but anymore I'm starting to wonder if they're having problems getting articles to press? The P4 DFI rocks when tweaked...

I've got the 875Pro and it is a pretty good board. Unfortunaltely I haven't got a black light in it yet.:) I'm using a Phillipine 2.6C CPU with 1GB of Corsair PC3500XMS(2-7-3-3). I believe I'm limited by the CPU and RAM. Currently I'm running stable at 255FSB with RAM at 5:4. Sandra buffered scores are around 5700+. The board runs good. My only gripe would be that I can't use my waterblock on the chipset (and wish I had better RAM, better CPU.......:D) The Firewire didn't stop me as there are pci cards available and the cost difference for the other boards I was considering was higher than the cards.

Lately my wife has gotten on this box and she thinks she'd like to upgrade... I'm curious about the LanParty II and the Chaintech board...may just slap this MB/CPU and RAM in her system and try one of those....

If your using the DFI 875Pro...what tweaks are you using?

Hey Matt....Thanks for the reply, and the feedback. The Intel 2.6c has awesome headroom for OC'ing, it may be your memory that's holding you back. OCZ 3700 Gold seems to be some really decent ram for this board. Also update your bios version as these two things alone may be all you need for some impressive benchmarks. Just remember benchmarks are kewl, but the meat is really in real world applications...video editing/coping, games...etc....Could you tell me the dimensions of your water block as I'm wondering if the prometeia MachII will mount on this board...this way I can compare apples to almost apples. I'm not a current owner of a DFI 875 Pro...yet. I'm waiting to see if they release a revised mobo sometime this month. Some of the highest benchmarks out there were achieved with this board, remember, DFI makes more mobos then any other motherboard manufacture out there, they have pretty decent/good customer service as does OCZ (now). I'll give you some links that might help...
OCZ 3700 Gold...scroll down the page a bit.

BTW, Welcome to the forum, glad to have ya a board!!

Teh RAM will technically run at 434, 2-7-3-3 and the max I'm able to get out of it is 450. I think I've peaked at an FSB of 259. While I can get the box up and into XP at 270, the system is just not stable and the last attempt at that speed resulted in a reboot. I've been considering the OCZ 3700 Gold but just can't quite get myself to pay $400 US for 1GB. Maybe on the next system:) I'm using the Maze 3 from Danger Den (great bunch of guys!) and have their chipset waterblock also. I previously had them on a Gigabyte Sinxp (brother has that MB/RAM/CPU combo now). The Danger Den web site says the Maze 3 is 3" x 2.125" x 7/8" . The CPU w/b fit easily on the LanParty. Unfortunately there are no mounting holes for the chipset. I've got the latest beta bios (0710) and it seems to be running fine. The people I've corresponded with at DFI have been real nice. Thanks for the links and I guess we'll be anxiously awaiting the release of the DFI LP II.

1. The DFI LANParty PRO875 shouldn't have any problem to mount on Prometeia MachII (Very expensive Cooling System?). We provide standard Intel P4 M/B mounting holes.
2. I double-checked with DFI H/Q last night. They said the PRO875 II would be released around mid September (Marketing strategy)

DFI Tech....Thanks for being up front, it is very much so appreciated and refreshing. If DFI support is anything like your honesty... you work for very solid company. Middle of September huh? That might be a mistake as Prescott might be released by October, November. It still seems that the new Prescott might not be compatible with current P4 boards...seems to be a huge grey area. Thanks for the information!
