well, i have increased my output as much as I can with what I have, even added 2 machines yesterday. But with only 25 out of 114 members producing what can we do!I've gone up 15 places this last week overall, and will easily hit the top 100 next week, but I can't make up a 2 million a day need for the team! Been crunching for 5 years now for TA and this is by far the worst I have seen so far! Guess we'll just have to get ready for the passing out of the top 3!:|

Hey bfour I just noticed we joined the forums on the same day. I know what you mean I've got everything I can get to run going. I upgraded a P3 slot one to a P4 2.0 today and I've got everthing overclocked. Can't wait to see my electric bill this month.

Hmmm... I'm sad to see the TeAm falling behind in rankings and production but I've gotta blame DF and the new client for this. I had about 30 DF clients at one time and most all of them are no longer turning in production. I guess they didn't take the update very well. I've tried to stop/start the service but the service doesn't stop. :| :| I've monitored the clients via KDFold and even after reboots it doesn't fix the problem. Half of them are remote so even if I had the time to uninstall/reinstall the service I would have to visit another site off hours to do it. I'm sorry but until the DF client is more stable and reliable I will not install it on any of my machines. I don't have the time or desire to babysit the machines.

my opinion:

the DF client should always be manually updated, i didn't finish where i did in phase I by relying on the autoupdate, it took a lot of work, essentially doing reinstalls on 20-40 pc's every month or so.

if that level of committment/work doesn't fit a DC person's scenario, then DF probably isn't the right project to choose

perhaps in the future DF will become a lower maintenance project, but at this time, it isn't . it is understandable that some of the other DC clients are preferred by many larger farmers

oh well :/

I've let 6 clients auto-update, but did the other 5 as manuals, partially due to lack of internet capability! I thinnk the last problem we had was a one-timer, and think Howard was chastised enough that it won't happen again!

The problem I have with the DF client is it doesn't shut down properly. I try to stop the service and it hangs on "stopping". My friend who works at another site let me install DF on about a dozen of his clients but had to disable the service because of this.

FoBoT: I truely respect your dedication to the project. I wish I could say I have the same level of committment but honestly I do not. I've disabled the DF service on most of my DC clients. Who knows, maybe the DF client will become stable and maintenance free down the road. If so, I'll come back in a second.
