Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the brief hiatus. Hopefully after my exam tomorrow, I'll be able to post more consistently. I'll try.

Here are today's milestone makers:

TA TheMagicman with 70M folds!

rolleye.gif

Robor has made 25M folds!

sduguid has made 10M folds!

AT JW310 has made 3M folds! :D:D:D

Ok, apparently my laxness in getting out the Daily in the last few days has hurt the team a little since there are a lot of inactive members. Ack! Well, I'll make amends for that (though don't expect DF Twice Dailies or anything like that)

Top Folder: TA TheMagicman with 71M folds! :D
Best RMS: Still cbcrus, going strong with 8.88 (good for about 34th overall)!
Best Production: Kris maintains his pace with 1.3M on the day (good for about 53rd orverall)! ;)

TeAm Stuff:

Well, apparently we are in 19th so yay to us. We're trailing by just under 70M so I'm afraid that TheMagicman's gonna have to double his total output, and quick! Or the rest of us could pick up the slack a little.

Daily Production: Very bad news! We have slipped back into 21st! That's no good. That means that we are no longer gaining ground relatively on those ahead of us. Come on folks, we have to get our folding back into gear.

Remember, only 1.5B more folds till the protein change (about 1 week away)!

Thanks m0ti.

Sorry about my spurratic production or better put lack of production. Things keep poping that are taking my cpu cycles. Looks like now I'm in on the SETI MTR so I won't have any DF production until that is over.

Thanks m0ti

Good job to all the MMs for today :)

I'm still having DF wierdness here. Ever since the SP1 install.

Anyway, I decided just to bite the bullet and do clean installs on both the comps. It's a LONG process. These things haven't been re-done from the gound up since............ over a year ago. Lot's of games to put back, update, configure, etc. so I'm up and down for the next few days as I gradually get the machines caught up.

Here's what I'm seeing..............

every once in a while, I get the little window that pops up and tells me "foldtrajlite.exe has encountered an error and needs to shut down...."

sometimes I have to manually remove the foldtrajlite.lock file to get the client to run (as a service) on the next re-start.

If any of you have suggestions for me, it would be greatly appreciated............. I'm running out of patience. I'd hate to give up DF, but it is the ONLY unstable app. in the stable right now and I don't do "unstable" well :disgust:

^That sucks :( When I was having problems, I just decided to set it to run as a service, and then set the service to automatically restart, in the case of an unexpected shutdown. I haven't had any problems since, when I check the event log there's a few unexpected service terminations and then it restarts.

Insidious,

I was getting that when I'd up my FSB a little too much (through software, not in the bios), while DF was running. I figured that it may have pushed my RAM just a little too hard (DF goes pretty heavy on the RAM), and that it caused some sort of an error/exception that caused DF to be shut down.

You can always run it as a service and have it restart automatically whenever it goes down (right click on the service (under admin tools/services), and click properties. Then click the recovery tab and set them all to restart). The question is how much useful work are you accomplishing before the program shutsdown? If you're getting some time in then restarting (with frequent writing of progress to disk) could be the way to go.

Good luck.

m0ti thanks for the daily

congratulations to the MM's

I'm going to play in the MTR for a month then be back hopefully then I will have my network setup better the do VNC and watch the computers better.

I too get tired of things being unstable. And I run some of the best equipment components not overclocked. Sometimes the cache will fill up and the program will terminate and this has occured on on a dual processor with 2 instances running and this is in the past couple of days with one gig of registered memory. An an always on internet connection.

I have a P-3 800 that will keep on ticking.

In a month I should have more units up.
My numbers have been down I have moved my dual into a larger case with more cooling and changed out the fans and heatsinks I will be doing similar with my other cases, cleaning and so-forth.
So I'll be a wildcard in seti also in output.
Also I am learning Linux and have problems getting a IP assigned and getting an Default gateway correctand the only way I caan do it at the present time is with installing the OS and then seeing if the stuff took cause I can't find the settings manually in Redhat KDE. If I chose DHCP I get my internet connection fine but manually It won't work. But I wanted to get 7.3 running instead of 7.2 and last time it took forever on getting the right combination.

Also I have 601wu SETI maybe I can get my 1,000 wu certificate.

Thanks for the suggestions guyz!

I am going to try the restart thingy...........................

(my FSB is only at 136, but I do have CAS set for 2 and timings set for Turbo, so I will knock them back to defaults if the restart thingy doesn't work..............)

I've said it before............. Y'all are DA best
