I was hoping to hit 100k by today, but faulty Ram in the 1.3 slowed me down :(

Friggn' Generic RAM

Anyhow, I'm soon to be adding another box to my "farm" (Props to Robar) I'm wondering if I can "control" it through my network, as opposed to having another monitor setting there for it. All I want to do is fold with it, nothing more. Is that possible? I'm thinking it is, I'm just not sure about setting it all up, or if I should just set it up and then not mess with it. I would like to be able to check it's status though, just to make sure it keeps chuggn' along.

Congrats to the Milestone makers today!

Curt: You're welcome on the MB. Can't wait to see it producing for the TeAm again! :D

Oh, I think there's a proggie that can do exactly what you want. WinVNC or something? I don't use it but I've seen a friend use it at work before. A quick search turned up THIS. In fact, I think I'm going to give it a try on my 2nd (desktop) and 3rd machines (laptop).

FoBot---->"This is the internet, you don't necessarily have to know anything, just post in a forceful manner like you believe you are right" <== That's funny!

ARGH... Can't get the POS proggie to see my "server" system from my "client" system... Uninstall will happen soon...

Edit: Ah, got it working. Even over a 100Mb switch it's kinda "laggy" but considering the price (free) it's not too bad. Good enough for monitoring a headless workstation anyway. :)

Thanks for the greeting m0ti.

Right now I'm not putting out that much per day but by the end of next week ill have a 3rd computer on the network. With the new machine I hope to put out a lot more per day between the three pc's. Right now I have a P3 700 chugging along 24/7 and a XP2100 that I use for selfish purposes like Unreal][ during the day and let it fold all night. With the addition of the XP2700 the 2100 will be able to fold during the day also so hopefully I can give the numbers a nice bump with the new addition.

Looking forward to meeting you all and to help push the team numbers up for this worthy cause.
