which is better? Antec DF-85 or the CM HAF X?

which is better in terms of ventilation? orientation? functionality? cable management?

I'm looking for a good replacement for my Antec 300

opinions will be greatly appreciated =)

The DF-85 is basicly a modifed Antec 1200 case. If I recall the 120mm fans puts out 79cfm on the highest speed. Never owned a HAF so can't really comment about that case.
 
You can also look into the newly released NZXT Phantom Full tower. Its priced at $140 and received pretty good reviews.

EDIT: $127 at amazon on pre-order.

I am gonna still say that case is beyond fugly.
 
HAF-X is a better case as far as I'm concerned.

The 1200... err I mean DF-85 seems like it has some good functionality, but man is it uggggggly.
 
I'm a big fan of the cm haf series. I cannot stand any case that has a front door or other interference in the front of the drives.

HAF X for sure, the antec is a modded 1200 and doesnt have anywhere near the cable management or over all thought out design that the HAF X comes with. would be my choice for sure
 
I love my HAF-X. Durable as hell, plenty of routing options, plenty of airflow. The only drawbacks to it that I can think of is that you'd have a tough time mounting a second radiator, but that's about it.

ohh... no worries then since i don't plan on having a watercooled setup =)
 
I can't comment about the DF-85; but if it's a modified 1200, I can say that I'm happy in migrating from a 1200 to the HAF-X. It solved several interference problems, had much better cable routing/management, and has several distinct features that I'm loving:

- Heatsink backplate access
- Wheels!
- Flexible psu mounting (intake from bottom or exausting)
- Plenty of room
- Tough looking

This gave me more problems than anything. This is an RE3 board, that is a little wider than a standard ATX board. The cut out was just not big enough. I had to take the mobo back out to mount the back plate. Otherwise, I love mine.

Also note the quality of using thumb screws on all the pci slot covers. I am not sure many or if any other case manufacturers do that. Also the 5.25 drive latches really well. I have seen some brands that do not work that well, but these are solid.
