Devil May Cry 4

Ok, so I just installed this game and wow. I am getting 120 fps off a 8800gt oc'd maxed out 1920x1200 and it looks amazing. I really don't understand why other games can't look this good and preform like it.

I thought it was a great game, but the re-playability isn't anything to talk about. The visuals were stunning though, one of the better ones for sure.

I just find it amazing how that the scenes can look so great and play so smoothly while other games play like poo and don't look as good. I wish other companies would learn to optimize like this.

Are you running it in DirectX 9 or 10 mode?

Is it fun though? I saw it at walmart tonight and thought about it. I figured I would look up some reviews first.

DMC4 is a lot of fun! If you have a gamepad. Otherwise steer clear.

If you have a pad, I highly recommend it

It is very fun, i love it. Although you really should pick up an Xbox360 wired controller to play it with. 😀

EA and a few others have shown that it is possible to rush a half finished game out the door and still make money on it. Why program the game properly when there's no reason to do so?

I thought DMC 4 sucked. Too much wandering around and wondering what to do next. A bit too much like the old resident evil games but with the shiny thing clues removed and a lot of sense taken out, plus more jumping etc. Its just bad...

The wandering around did get annoying as hell when I played through it my first time. About a quarter of my total playtime was that. However, I still liked the game. Pretty basic hack and slash, but the lame-ish cutscenes and excellent music did it for me.

I LOVED Devil May Cry 4, I spent about 80 hours on it playing all the difficulty modes and the bloody palace.

Definitely a must-buy in my opinion though you NEED a gamepad.

They know how to optimize, they are just lazy sacks of shit who dont want to waste time and money doing a port properly. Why do I need a 1gb video card, 4gb of ram and a quad-core PC to play GTA4 at a decent framerate? Lousy lazy coding, thats why.

Thanks guys, I have the wireless dongle to use the 360 controllers. I think I will go ahead and pick this up. A good beat em up/hacknslash game would be a good change of pace.

I tried the demo for ps3 and wasn't impressed. Maybe what it really needs is system configuration headaches and poor performance from my less than top of the line from 2 years ago system!

haha, just kidding though for some reason I see myself enjoying this game a lot more on my PC than on ps3.. don't know why.

update: Runs great even on my shabby hardware (C2D @2.33ghz, 2GB DDR2, 8600GT 256mb) and while my prediction of configuration headaches proved true (default resolution of 1280x720 is not supported by my westinghouse 26" LCD) I figured out any easy work around and lo and behold.. the game actually isn't as boring as the ps3 demo lead me to believe.
