I must be doing something wrong but every single boss in this game takes me many many tries to actually beat them and when I do win I end up scraping by just barely. And this is just on normal mode. Never before has a game had me wanting to throw my controller into the TV and/or smash things. Grr... Anyone have any tips? I'm stuck at Beowulf right now and must have tried it twenty times already...

I dunno but if the 3rd one is anything like the 4th its a real PITA. My tip is to move on to a better game for a while and come back later, i moved on to condemned 2 and then came back to devil may cry 4 with a fresh perspective. Never worked at all, but it might work with you...

Is this the original DMC3 or the special edition? The SE had a slightly lowered difficulty because the original was such a PITA. If you have the original it's definitely not just you, it's really f'ing hard.

It's the SE version. I can't even begin to imagine what the original one is like... I'm to the point I just want to sell off the whole series and be done with it. I've already played through the first and fourth one and they too made me want to break things. The second one was the complete opposite - it was probably one of the easiest games I've ever played. I don't get it. But I think this one is by far the worst.

You know it's not that hard typing pain in the ass.

Devil May Cry 3 is much harder than Devil May Cry 4, it's just about patience and practice, you need to play defensive and concentrate though you'll probably still get your butt kicked.

It's normal.

I have Devil May Cry SE myself. And while some parts of the game can be hard, if you learn to use the combo's properly...it is pretty much a cakewalk. As is the same with Devil May Cry 4. I thought that game was extremely hard. Practiced a lot, then I went straight through in one session all the way from Mission 1 to Mission 13 without dying on Son Of Sparda mode.
