Devices for 1 handed gaming?

I was recently in a motorcycle accident and can't use my right arm.. As an avid gamer, mostly FPS, I'm having trouble adjusting. Are there any methods to game effectivly with one hand only? I have the Cyborg-evo controller, MS510 mouse, and Nostromo N-52 game pad... now i'm thinkin i need something to replace those to get my game on.

Any help?

Sorry about your accident. Bummer! There is a lot of on-going research and development in the field of neural game controllers, but they are not yet on the street for PCs. Probably will hit Play Stations first.

Do a Google for neural game controllers.

As for old technology, although it would take a lot to develop your left hand coordination, consider a large, left-handed trackball.

If you've only one hand, you'll need either to obtain a handless mouse or WASD substitute, or double up duties. http://www.dansdata.com/trackir.htm isn't said to be as good as a realy mouse but all you need is motion in your head. An option for WASD would be a home DDR pad or similar appropriately keymapped. With some practice you could likely do basic arrow key stuff with your feet, in order to leave a mouse hand free.

Other option: doubling up. I've not been able to find a product for this; but you can probably hack something up yourself, or engage the assistance of somebody who can. The plan is to put a mouse style optical sensor on the bottom of a gaming keypad, like your nostromo. You could then handle button presses and mouse movement with the same hand. Find a cheap, small optical mouse, take its top shell off, and tape, glue, whatever, it to the bottom of the nostromo(or similar small gamer's keypad). Build up the feet with teflon skids and away you go.

I'm sorry about your hand, and I apologise for not finding any terribly good substitute peripherals; but the problem is a tricky one.

I'm sorry, i mean't i lost the use of my left arm. Thanks for the info... additional info will still be appreciated!! Thanks guys!

I also saw a mouse that had keys built into it i forget what it was called.

Another possible solution is to get a mx1000 or similar and use the forward webpage button to move forward and the same for the back button, may take some gettingused to but its possible.
