Device to transmit cable TV over LAN?

Does anyone know of a device that would allow me to hook up the audio/video signal from my cable TV box and stream it over the LAN?

orb re-encodes the video on the fly based on the amount of available bandwidth to avoid buffering. Since it's free I would give it a try before dropping loot on a slingbox.

Thanks...newb question, but has anyone used these over wireless LAN? Can it handle the bandwidth?

802.11g should be able to handle it

So with this I could watch TV on my ODA on the way to work if the train had wifi?

Are there any programs that will allow me to broadcast "cable" from my desktop? I have a TV Tuner on my desktop and would like to be able to use it from my laptop when I'm playing games on my desktop.
